So it is safe to say that this is a battle between two in-form sides and predicting which way the tie will go is incredibly difficult.
Each team boasts quality in all key departments and delivering on home soil will be of paramount importance to both.
And in the Pro League, USG’s home record has been stellar, with eight victories and only one defeat in 12 matches – all while conceding only nine goals.
As such, a first-leg victory is a tall order for Ajax, but their famous European pedigree could prove key in what has the makings of a special Europa League tie.
