Austrian Grand Prix Preview
Located in the heart of the Austrian Alps, the Red Bull Ring is one of the shortest and fastest circuits in the championship.
At 4.3km with 12 corners and more than 70% of the lap at full throttle, it tests both engines and drivers alike. The track is known for its steep gradients and long straights that are ideal for overtaking and heavy braking, particularly in corners 1, 3 and 4.
Top speeds can exceed 320 km/h, but the main challenge lies in managing the tyres and brakes, which are put to the test by the altitude, summer heat and abrasive asphalt.
On their favourite circuit, Red Bull and Max Verstappen will be under maximum pressure, but also highly motivated.
The four-time champion is determined to deliver a victory on home soil. However, watch out for the McLaren team, which possess two exceptional and in-form drivers in its ranks: Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
Austrian Grand Prix: Betting Tips & Odds
*All odds are subject to change
Winning team – McLaren at 1.50
McLaren has been impressive this season, and the Spielberg circuit seems tailor-made for their car. With Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris in great form, the British team is approaching this Grand Prix with real momentum. Their current form, combined with excellent tyre management on this fast track, makes McLaren the clear favourite for victory in the team standings. At odds of 1.50, it’s a logical choice for those betting on consistency and collective strength.
Top 2 in the race – Max Verstappen at 2.10
Although Red Bull is not showing the overwhelming dominance of previous seasons, Max Verstappen is still at home on the Red Bull Ring. Buoyed by his home crowd and always formidable on this circuit, where he has often shone, the Dutchman has what it takes to aim for a podium finish – or even better. His racing knowledge, controlled aggression and experience on this track make him a very strong contender for a place in the top two.
Race winner – Oscar Piastri at 2.62
Young Australian Oscar Piastri continues to go from strength to strength this season. Performing well on high-speed circuits such as Spielberg, he looks ready to take the next step. His consistency in races and ability to handle pressure could well earn him his first big win in 2025. At 2.62, it’s a bold bet, but far from crazy given his current form.
