Tennis: ATP Masters 1000 Canada – Men’s Singles Betting Tips

Get ready for exciting tennis action in the heart of Canada! As per usual, this is one of the first key stages on the road to the US Open. The 2025 Toronto Open takes place from July 27 to August 8 and promises some thrilling matchups.

The competition brings together some of the best players in the world together, all aiming to succeed Australian Alexander Popyrin, winner of last year’s edition.

Unfortunately, several big names such as Novak Djokovic, Jack Draper, Carlos Alcaraz, and Jannik Sinner will not be competing this year.

Spanish sensation Alcaraz has chosen to rest and recover from minor muscular issues and mentally recharge after his loss in the Wimbledon final, with the US Open—the last Grand Slam of the season—in sight.

The same goes for Djokovic and Sinner, who are also recovering from physical setbacks after their exploits at Wimbledon.

In this context, world No. 3 Alexander Zverev and world No. 4 Taylor Fritz are the clear favourites heading into this Masters 1000.

Below are some predictions for this prestigious tennis event to help guide your sports betting. You can also watch the biggest sporting events live with betFIRST TV.

Tennis: ATP Masters 1000 Canada – Our Predictions

*All odds are subject to change

ATP Toronto 2025 Winner – Alexander Zverev at odds of 7.00
The German, currently ranked No. 3 in the world, will be eager to bounce back after a disappointing Wimbledon campaign. Very comfortable on hard courts, Zverev has both the experience and power to go all the way. With several top seeds absent, the path to the title looks clearer than ever for a world-class operator.

Casper Ruud to beat Roman Safiullin at odds of 1.39
Casper Ruud, world No. 12, is considered one of the main contenders in this tournament alongside Zverev and Fritz. The Norwegian should have little trouble overcoming Russia’s Roman Safiullin, given the clear gap in level and experience between the two.

Holger Rune to beat Giovanni Perricard at odds of 1.38
Rune, ranked No. 9 in the world, has all the tools to win this matchup. While his opponent is a talented and powerful server, the Dane is far more consistent and experienced at this level. A straight-sets win for Rune is entirely possible, though we’re playing it safer and sticking with the standard ‘Match Winner’ market.

Taylor Fritz to reach the final at odds of 4.50
With top contenders like Sinner, Alcaraz, and Djokovic out, American Taylor Fritz, currently world No. 4, has a golden opportunity to reach the final of this Masters 1000. He could benefit from a favourable draw and work his way through to the final match.
