Club Brugge to beat Union Saint-Gilloise @ 1.95
In case you were unaware, Club Brugge now sit top of the Championship Round table after last weekend’s fixtures. The reigning champions beat Gent 5-0 away from home, while Genk slipped to a second consecutive defeat. Interestingly, USG were the team to inflict Genk’s first home loss of the season and will feel they can claim another huge scalp here to give their own title aspirations a huge boost. But right now, Club Brugge look close to unstoppable and with the brilliant Christos Tzolis fresh from a brace against Gent, we are backing Nicky Hayen’s side to get the job done on Thursday.
Genk to beat Royal Antwerp @ 2.20
Tomorrow night is huge for Genk, as anything but a win could see their title hopes evaporate. Before a ball was kicked in the play-offs, Thortsen Fink’s side were huge favourites to get their hands on the trophy following a superb regular season campaign. But now frailties are beginning to show and a successful trip to Antwerp is now of paramount importance. Antwerp have lost their last two home matches, including a shock 1-0 defeat to Gent on Matchday 3. Last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Anderlecht will have done little to boost morale either, hence why we are tipping Genk to bounce back.
Anderlecht vs Gent: Under 1.5 goals @ 4.00
As previously mentioned, Anderlecht failed to get their play-off campaign up and running when they hosted Antwerp. It did bring an end to a run of three consecutive Championship Round defeats, though things still look pretty bleak for Anderlecht. They have scored just one goal in their last four matches, while Gent have only mustered one themselves after being thrashed by Club Brugge. After looking at the recent attacking numbers, it feels only right to tip a low-scoring match at Anderlecht tomorrow.
Charleroi to beat Dender @ 2.30
Charleroi sit top of the Europa Conference League Qualification Round after a convincing 3-0 home win over Mechelen last Saturday. Charleroi are yet to lose in this season’s play-offs and will fancy maintaining their positive start when they travel to Dender. Tonight’s hosts drew 4-4 at Leuven on Matchday 4 and could only muster a 1-1 in their previous home match against Standard Liege. We expect a close contest this evening, one which Charleroi just about edge.
