Barcelona vs Mallorca: La Liga Preview

Barcelona look to continue their march towards the 2024-25 La Liga title when they host Mallorca later this evening.

Hansi Flick’s side look in good shape at the moment, although competing on three fronts may soon start taking its toll on the players.

Barcelona vs Mallorca Preview

Barca have been close to unstoppable in 2025. In fact, their last league defeat was way back on December 21.

So it is no shock that the Catalan side are four points clear of rivals Real Madrid at the top, though their last outing was anything but easy.

Barca fell 3-1 behind at home to Celta Vigo and had to mastermind a superb second-half comeback, with Raphinha netting a dramatic late penalty to seal the win.

Defensively, Flick’s side look a tad vulnerable right now and what is more, top scorer Robert Lewandowski picked up a muscle injury vs Celta which will rule him out of tonight’s fixture and beyond.

Mallorca are enjoying a fairly good season themselves, sitting seventh in La Liga with real hopes of qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

The 0-0 home draw with Leganes on the weekend was a bit of a disappointment, but they did beat Real Sociedad 2-0 the previous Saturday in a stellar away performance.

So Barca will be well aware of the threat possessed by Mallorca, particularly veteran playmaker Dani Rodriguez, who has tallied seven assists in La Liga this term.

But Mallorca will not have fond memories of December’s reverse fixture, as the Blaugrana ran out 5-1 winners in a brutal show of attacking power.

Interestingly, Lewandowski did not feature in that game either, watching on from the bench as Ferran Torres opened the scoring.

The onus will be on Torres to fill the Polish superstar’s boots in the coming weeks, with a Copa del Rey final vs Real Madrid coming on the weekend and followed by a two-legged Champions League semi-final against Inter Milan.

Barcelona vs Mallorca Odds

In-form Barca, who have scored 88 goals in La Liga this term, are huge favourites to claim a 24th top-flight win at odds of 1.25. Mallorca are priced at 11.00, while the draw is 6.50.

Barcelona vs Mallorca Betting Tips

Ferran Torres to score 2 or more goals @ 4.70

Torres will now be an undisputed starter for Barca following Lewandowski’s injury. Even with limited game time, the versatile forward has impressed, tallying 10 La Liga goals in 935 minutes of action. His last three league strikes have all come at home.

Raphinha to score anytime @ 2.05

Raphinha scored a brace the last time these two sides met and was also at the double in the win over Celta. The Brazilian has 15 La Liga goals for the season and is showing no signs of slowing down in terms of output.

Barcelona to win and over 3.5 goals in the match @ 2.65

Barca are renowned for scoring freely under Flick’s rule and even with the Copa del Rey final on the horizon, they will probably not take their foot off the gas here. The Blaugrana’s last two home matches in all competitions have featured a combined total of 11 goals.
