Maxim De Cuyper’s dramatic stoppage-time goal to seal the 1-0 win against Genk has changed the entire outlook of the Belgian top-flight season. Defending champions Club Brugge now look to be the form horse and with confidence levels surely high in the camp, we expect Nicky Hayen’s side to defeat wounded Gent with ease. Club Brugge have netted over 2.5 goals in two of their last five Pro League outings and are the leading scorers in the division.
Genk to beat Union Saint-Gilloise and both teams to score @ 4.00
The onus really is on Genk to bounce back in style this weekend and maintain their position at the top of the table. That won’t be easy against USG, though. USG are in superb form in the Championship Round, winning three games on the bounce and scoring 10 goals in the process, all while conceding only once. But at home, Genk really are a force to be reckoned with and are yet to lose in front of their own fans this campaign. Genk beat USG 2-1 at home on the final weekend of the regular season and we would not be shocked to see that scoreline repeated here.
Leuven vs Dender: Draw @ 3.40
Draws have been commonplace so far in the Europa Conference League Qualifying Group – and we can see this intriguing match being another. Hosts Leuven have drawn three matches on the spin, while Dender were held 1-1 by Standard Liege last weekend after being thrashed 5-2 by Mechelen on Matchday 2. Leuven have won their last two home matches against Dender, but we fancy the points to be shared this time around.
