Champions League holders PSG were simply magnificent in their Club World Cup opener. Luis Enrique’s ridiculously-talented side brushed aside Atletico Madrid, winning 4-0 at a canter. As such, we can see the Ligue 1 side inflicting similar damage on an inferior opponent – on paper at least. Botafogo beat Seattle Sounders 2-1 on Matchday 1, but the performance was far from convincing. If PSG get into their groove, it could be a long, long game for the Brazilians.
Benfica to score over 6.5 goals vs Auckland City @ 2.21
Auckland City are a team made up of part-time footballers – and it showed in their opening clash. The side from New Zealand was thrashed 10-0 by German champions Bayern Munich in the most one-sided match in Club World Cup history. So Benfica will be licking their lips ahead of this contest and with the likes of Vangelis Pavlidis in attack, the Portuguese outfit can rack up the goals here. After a tough 2-2 draw with Boca Juniors, we are backing them to score at least seven times on Friday.
Atletico Madrid to beat Seattle Sounders @ 1.27
Despite the fact they were beaten convincingly by PSG, we still feel confident that Atletico will get the better of Seattle here. On their day, Diego Simeone’s side is among the best in Europe and that is a level of quality the American side simply cannot match, or even get near to in fact. Seattle currently sit sixth in the Western Conference with six defeats in 18 games – and an early Club World Cup exit surely beckons.
