Olivier Giroud to score anytime for Los Angeles FC vs Chelsea @ 6.00
Chelsea and MLS side Los Angeles FC lock horns later this evening in a match which the Premier League outfit should win with a degree of comfort. However, Giroud will be coming up against a former employer in the Blues, so the tall French striker should need no extra motivation to perform. While we expect Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea to win by two or three goals, we are backing Giroud to score at least a consolation – and the odds here really do look great! Giroud has scored three goals in 10 MLS matches so far this year.
Benfica to beat Boca Juniors @ 1.60
This could be a closer game than it initially looks on paper. Boca Juniors are one of the most famous sporting institutions in the world and currently sit second in the Argentine top flight. But Benfica is a club with a rich history too and their additional quality should see the European side over the line here. Spearheaded by a fantastic striker in Vangelis Pavlidis, who scored 19 league goals last season, the Lisbon-based outfit can kickstart their Club World Cup campaign with an impressive win.
CF Monterrey vs Inter Milan: Draw @ 4.35
The less said about the end to Inter Milan’s 2024-25 season, the better. The Nerrazzuri were pipped to the Serie A crown by Napoli and then lost 5-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League Final. Even with Cristian Chivu replacing Simone Inzaghi as manager, the mood in the camp must be very flat indeed. As such, we are backing CF Monterrey to spring something of a surprise – even though they currently sit seventh in Liga MX with just eight wins in 17 matches. A risk, but perhaps one worth taking!
Kylian Mbappe to score first in Real Madrid vs Al-Hilal @ 3.10
Mbappe ended the 2024-25 campaign in devastating fashion and finished with 31 La Liga goals overall, enough to secure the European Golden Shoe award. And with no silverware on his Real Madrid CV as of yet, the France captain will now look to take the Club World Cup by storm. Saudi Pro League runners-up Al-Hilal – now managed by Inzaghi – boast some strong defenders in Kalidou Koulibaly, Renan Lodi and Joao Cancelo, but keeping out Mbappe is a tough task even for the world’s best.
