England vs Spain: Match Preview
It’s a remake of the 2023 Women’s World Cup final, which also featured Spain and England.
England will be defending their European crown after a solid 2025 campaign, despite losing their group stage opener against France (1-2).
The Lionesses narrowly escaped elimination in the semi-finals against Italy, but substitute Michelle Agyemang rescued them with a dramatic equaliser in the 96th minute to force extra time.
Then, Chloe Kelly—also coming off the bench—scored the winner in the 119th minute, slotting home a rebound from a missed penalty.
Spain, meanwhile, had to battle hard to overcome Germany in the Euro semi-finals (1-0 AET), with Ballon d’Or winner Aitana Bonmati scoring the decisive goal. It was La Roja’s first-ever win over Germany in a major tournament.
Now just one step away from achieving the World Cup–Euros double, Spain hope to claim their first-ever European title.
They could also become just the second European team in history to hold both the Women’s World Cup and the Women’s Euros trophies simultaneously, following in the footsteps of Germany, who won the World Cup in 2003 and 2007 and the Euros in 2001, 2005 and 2009.

England vs Spain: Our Predictions
Spain to win in regular time @ 1.77
Aitana Bonmati, widely regarded as the best player in the world, is expected to shine once again and lead her team to the title. Spain have shown greater consistency and technical control throughout the tournament, and that could be decisive against a sometimes shaky English defence.
Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.82
England have netted 10 goals in their last three matches at this Euros, averaging 3.3 goals per game. Spain might win it, but the Lionesses will fight with everything they’ve got – and should be able to find the back of the net at least once.
Total goals – Over 3 @ 2.39
Spain undeniably boast the best attacking line-up in the world, while England’s defence has looked far from solid during the tournament. That said, the Lionesses also have plenty of firepower and can cause problems for any opponent. We expect goals galore in what promises to be a thrilling final—perhaps even one that goes the distance.
