Jupiler Pro League 2025/26: Our Predictions for Matchday 2

*All odds are subject to change

Club Brugge to win away at KV Mechelen @ 1.75
Club Brugge kicked off their season in style with a fairly convincing victory on Matchday 1, showing solid tactical control and attacking efficiency. Facing a KV Mechelen side that struggled to find their rhythm in their opener, Brugge’s technical superiority and experience should make the difference. We expect the visitors to build on their strong start and claim another three points away from home.

Standard Liège vs Dender – Both teams to score: No @ 1.90
Standard Liège showed encouraging defensive solidity in their opening match, while Dender struggled to create clear chances. At home, Standard will look to control proceedings and keep a clean sheet. Dender are likely to adopt a cautious, defensive approach against more experienced opposition. It’s highly likely that one or both teams will fail to score in this matchup.

Union Saint-Gilloise to beat OH Leuven @ 1.37
As mentioned above, Union Saint-Gilloise began their title defence with a 1-1 draw against Antwerp. The reigning champions will want to bounce back and deliver a stronger performance in front of their home fans this weekend. Leuven, meanwhile, showed defensive frailties in their first game. Despite being two goals up late in the match, Youssef Maziz and his teammates collapsed and conceded twice in quick succession. Backed by their supporters and driven by high expectations, USG should have the edge against a Leuven side likely to struggle with the pace and pressure of the match.

Cercle Brugge vs Anderlecht – Over 2.5 goals @ 1.84
Anderlecht’s opening match showed their attacking potential, with five goals scored and Thorgan Hazard in excellent form. With dynamic wingers and plenty of offensive movement, RSCA are a constant threat going forward. Cercle Brugge, on the other hand, could only manage a draw in a lacklustre performance on Matchday 1, and now need to step up. Expect plenty of chances at both ends, with at least three goals likely in this encounter.
