Tottenham host Liverpool in the first of a series of intriguing encounters scheduled over the next six weeks. The two clubs will play out their first Premier League meeting of the season on Sunday, before visiting each other again in the two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final, with the first leg occurring in early January and the second early in the following month.
It is always tactically interesting when teams face each other multiple times in a short period, as each manager adjusts in order to expose weaknesses in their opponents. The Premier League offering should set the tone for what is to come.

Tottenham vs Liverpool Preview
Two of the most thrilling attacking teams in the Premier League this season go head-to-head for the first of three encounters in quick succession.
Though still with a game in hand on the chasing pack, Liverpool have seen their lead at the top cut by an in-form Chelsea and, in fact, could be knocked off of top spot by the time this one kicks-off on Sunday, should Chelsea win. Spurs, on the other hand, are one of the many clubs jostling for position in the middle of the table, desperately trying to keep pace in the race for European places.
Both teams enter this game following wins in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. A much-changed Liverpool defeated Southampton 2-1, while Spurs played out a classic, albeit strange, contest against Manchester United, eventually coming out 4-3 winners.
The North London club might feel they are playing Liverpool at a good time, as the packed fixture schedule starts to have an effect on players. Of course, the Reds have drawn their last two Premier League matches (3-3 vs Newcastle, 2-2 vs Fulham), finally showing cracks in their armour that some thought would not appear after their fantastic start.
Whether Tottenham are the club best suited to take advantage of this is another question though, with the inconsistency of Ange Postecoglou’s team the cause of much concern amongst fans. Although league points are without a doubt important, Postecoglou might just prioritise the cup games, as he looks to back up his assertions that he always wins trophies in his second season at a club.
Arne Slot will be hoping for silverware in his debut Liverpool season, with the Reds going well in every competition so far, perhaps creating the strongest argument in the discussion of Europe’s best team this season.

Tottenham vs Liverpool Betting Tips
Moneyline / Both Teams to Score – Liverpool and Both to Score @ 2.25
As far as this match is concerned, this is our banker. We just do not see how this does not happen, to be honest. Two teams focussed on attacking and with talent to execute on that focus.
Last Goalscorer – Mohamed Salah @ 4.80
How many times has Salah scored decisive, winning goals in big fixtures? Too many for us to mention now, but enough to know that it is a decent betting tip. He has just joined Erling Haaland at the top of the Premier League goalscorers, matching the Norwegian’s 13.
Corners – Over 10 @ 1.44
With an overwhelming attention on attacking, this is likely to be a frantic game with teams exchanging periods of pressure, resulting in corners, of course. Over 10, in fact.
