Serie A Matchday 38 Betting Tips

The final matchday of the Serie A season could be one of the most dramatic seen in years.

Inter Milan and Napoli each play on Friday night in a battle for the title, with the latter just one point clear at the top.

Elsewhere, Juventus, Roma and Lazio are locked in a fierce firefight for the final Champions League qualification spot, while Venezia, Empoli, Lecce, Parma and Verona are part of a skirmish to avoid the final two relegation places.

With so much left to sort out in Italy’s top flight, it feels only right to provide some betting tips, complete with the latest football odds from betFIRST’s website and app.

And if your bet on Serie A football this weekend is coming in with time still left to play in the match (or matches), our Cash Out feature means you can collect potential winnings early.

Inter Milan to beat Como and over 2.5 goals in the match @ 2.45

The title is now out of Inter’s hands following their 2-2 draw with Lazio at San Siro, with Pedro Rodriguez scoring a brace off the bench for the visitors. And a trip to Como represents a very tough test these days, with Cesc Fabregas’ side winning four of their last five matches. As such, we expect Como to have a major say in this game, but also still fancy Inter to get the job done with so much on the line. Simone Inzaghi’s side won the reverse fixture 2-0 back in December, however, Como are a different proposition now and have scored at least once in their previous 14 Serie A fixtures.

Scott McTominay to score anytime for Napoli vs Cagliari @ 2.40

Napoli’s Matchday 38 assignment is far easier – on paper at least. Antonio Conte’s leaders host Cagliari, who are safe from relegation and on a run of three defeats in five. They have little to play for, so the Neapolitans should really fancy their chances of winning the title race. Unsurprisingly, Napoli’s odds to win are rather short, so there is perhaps better value to be found in a goal from McTominay. The Scotsman has already netted 11 times in Serie A this season and has four goals in his last three matches at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Roma to beat Torino @ 1.57

Roma need a favour from Venezia against Juventus to stand a chance of claiming the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot. But Claudio Ranieri’s side also need to ensure they win their final fixture away at Torino, which is exactly what we expect them to do. Roma have won four of their last five Serie A encounters, while Torino are four without a victory and lost 1-0 at relegation-threatened Lecce in the previous outing. And the Giallorossi’s 3-1 success against AC Milan last weekend should act as more than decent preparation for a potentially season-defining contest.

Mateo Retegui to score anytime for Atalanta vs Parma @ 2.20

With Atalanta’s place in the top three secured and Parma fighting to avoid relegation, we are slightly hesitant in backing the Bergamo-based side to win – even though they have triumphed in four of the last five. But we do feel confident in tipping Serie A’s leading scorer Retegui to find the back of the net once again. The Italy international has 25 league goals for the season, with three of them coming in the previous six matches. Retegui also found the back of the net in the reverse fixture, which was a 3-1 win for Atalanta.
