Arminia’s run to the final has been nothing short of miraculous. After a first-round victory over second-tier Hannover 96, they have taken on all comers from the Bundesliga.
In fact, the side which recently secured promotion from the third tier of German football has beaten no fewer than four sides from the top flight.

However, Stuttgart did win their last three league matches and defeated RB Leipzig 3-1 in the semi-finals of this competition.
But the Bundesliga side could be without a key player in midfield maestro Angelo Stiller, who picked up an injury in the 4-0 win over Augsburg.
Stuttgart will hope his potential absence does not hamper their efforts to win a first piece of silverware in 17 long years, with the victor also earning a spot in next season’s Europa League.
Of course, Arminia have never won a major trophy and a second-tier side playing in a major European competition would be something quite extraordinary.
