Premier League Matchday 20 – Betting Tips

Unlike most other top European divisions, the Premier League continued with non-stop action over the festive period.

And there is more to look forward to this weekend as the best teams in England gear up for Matchday 20.

We are now halfway through the 2024-25 season and the table is beginning to take shape, with Liverpool six points clear of Arsenal at the summit.

Promoted sides Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich occupy the bottom three places, although Manchester United are only seven points above the relegation zone.

It is all set to be yet another enthralling matchday in the English top flight and betFIRST has picked a few selections below that can be used in a handy accumulator bet with great odds.

Newcastle to beat Tottenham @ 2.30

The first match of the weekend sees in-form Newcastle travel to struggling Tottenham.

Eddie Howe’s Magpies have won their last four in the league without conceding, while Spurs are without a win in three.

And lest we forget, the North Londoners let in six when they recently hosted Liverpool, so Newcastle’s fluid attack – spearheaded by the superb Alexander Isak – could have a field day.

Spurs are also set to be without a host of key defenders, including the recently injured Destiny Udogie, so it could be a long, long afternoon for Ange Postecoglou’s side after their 2-2 draw with Wolves last time out.

Crystal Palace to beat Chelsea @ 3.65

We are siding with the underdog in this London derby.

Chelsea’s festive fixtures did not go to plan whatsoever, with the Blues picking up just one point from three matches and scoring only one goal.

The 2-0 defeat at Ipswich on Matchday 19 was a real hammerblow to their slim title aspirations and a trip to Selhurst Park could prove another tricky assignment.

After a 5-1 loss to Arsenal, Palace bounced back on home soil with a 2-1 victory over Southampton last Sunday.

Bournemouth to beat Everton @ 1.76

Bournemouth are without a win in their last two at home, drawing with both West Ham (1-1) and Crystal Palace (0-0).

But the Cherries have picked up some huge victories on the South Coast this term, beating Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.

With that in mind, Andoni Iraola’s side should have too much firepower for an Everton team still reeling from a 2-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The Toffees have lost on their last four trips to the Vitality Stadium, a woeful record which we can see being extended to five this weekend.

Southampton and Brentford to draw @ 3.60

It is always a risk betting on two Premier League sides to draw.

However, we feel it is a potential outcome in this intriguing fixture at St Mary’s.

Southampton are beginning to show signs of improvement under new manager Ivan Juric, while Brentford’s injury crisis is threatening to derail their campaign somewhat.

The Bees have also struggled away from home this term, which could pave the way for the hosts to pick up a much-needed point in their quest for survival.
