The first legs of the 2025 UEFA Nations League quarter-finals certainly did not disappoint!

Thursday’s action was full of drama and we cannot wait to see the conclusion of the ties on Sunday evening.

Only four nations can reach the semi-finals and right now, predicting who that quartet will be is mighty tough.

Spain to beat the Netherlands @ 1.71

Spain were on course to lose in the Netherlands on Thursday, until an injury-time equaliser from Arsenal’s makeshift striker Mikel Merino. Now, the Euro 2024 winners are favourites to reach the semis and we expect them to win with a degree of comfort in Valencia. La Roja won all three of their group matches on home soil, against pretty tough opposition as well in Denmark, Switzerland and Serbia. The Dutch failed to triumph in any of their away group matches.

Portugal to score over 2.5 goals vs Denmark @ 3.10

The Portuguese need to come out firing in the second leg after suffering a shock 1-0 defeat in Denmark. A 78th-minute goal from Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund means Roberto Martinez’s side have something of a mountain to climb on home soil, but they can get the job done. With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Rafael Leao in forward areas, goals should not be hard to come by. Portugal’s last match in front of their own fans saw them beat Poland 5-1 in the group stage.

France to score over 2.5 goals vs Croatia @ 2.70

Another team in need of a stellar second-leg display on home soil is France. The 2022 World Cup finalists were on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat in Croatia, despite having more shots on goal and a higher percentage of possession. So the pressure is on in Paris, but Didier Deschamps’ side rarely disappoint. With in-form duo Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele up top, France have the tools to blow Croatia away and if the hosts score early on Sunday, expect them to romp to victory and book a place in the semis.

Germany to beat Italy @ 1.74

Germany’s 2-1 win in Italy has set this tie up perfectly. A late strike from Leon Goretzka sealed the victory at San Siro, a goal which means the Azzurri cannot sit back on German soil. The Italians have to try and take the game by the scruff of the neck, potentially paving the way for an end-to-end classic, as Die Mannschaft will look to entertain their fans. Picking a winner is not easy, but home advantage means we are siding with Germany.
