Ahead of the rest of Europe, the Jupiler Pro League has started to take shape, with teams now having some idea of the challenges and battles they will be facing.
As usual, this weekend’s fixtures will feature the usual high-drama action we have come to expect from Belgium’s top division. At the top of the league, Genk have opened up a five-point gap on chasers Antwerp, who are being hunted down by Gent and Club Brugge.
And at the other end of the table, Beerschot are struggling for form alongside Cercle Brugge, both of whom need to turn their results around to avoid relegation.

Genk to beat Gent @ 2.25
In the featured clash of the weekend, Gent will host leaders Genk as they try to narrow down the gap at the top of the table.
After a run of draws, Gent desperately need to pick up some momentum if they want to continue their title push. But a successful campaign in the Europa Conference League may hinder this through fatigue.
Meanwhile, Genk are flying high with a solid gap between them and second place. They proved they are not invincible in a recent shock loss to Kortrijk, but winning the eight games before that makes them our favourites this weekend.
Club Brugge to beat Anderlecht @ 1.68
A key clash in the chase for play-offs, as sixth-place Anderlecht travel to fourth-place Club Brugge.
Fighting on two fronts as Belgium’s representative in the Champions League, Club Brugge have stumbled in the league, losing three times so far. But it is not irreparable and the chase is on. A win could potentially take them second, so the stakes are high.
The same can be said for Anderlecht, although they are also competing in the Europa League and may be impacted by fatigue. So with two days extra rest, we fancy Club Brugge to come out on top this weekend.
Mechelen to beat Dender @ 2.50
Similar to the previous, this one could play a significant role in shaping the play-offs.
Mechelen sit fifth and Dender seventh, so either team could end the day in or out of the play-off spots. Mechelen have been inconsistent, but a small run of wins makes them our favourites for this one.
However, surprise package Dender are not to be underestimated and are capable of big things on their day.
Royal Antwerp to beat Standard Liege @ 1.64
A huge clash as far as history is concerned, as two of Belgium’s biggest clubs go head-to-head.
Despite sitting in ninth, Standard could make their way into the play-off positions with a win over second-placed Antwerp. A victory against Charleroi last weekend should give them a boost as they look to pull off an upset this time around.
But Antwerp have not lost in their last five and are hoping to make a push to top the table and return to Europe next season. This dazzling form makes them our pick for the fixture this weekend.
