This clash between two ambitious sides promises to be tight. Defending Belgian champions Union Saint-Gilloise are formidable away from home, but Gent will be eager to get a positive result and show a better face in front of their home crowd. Even though USG is coming off a convincing win against Leuven, the draw is an appealing option given the odds.
Standard Liège to beat Racing Genk @ 3.75
After a frustrating draw in the previous round, Standard Liège will be under pressure to secure a win and make up ground in the standings. Racing Genk, still winless, will be looking to turn things around. As such, this game will be a real test of resilience for both teams. The Rouches can certainly rely on a passionate home crowd at Sclessin, and also on individuals capable of making the difference late in the game.
Anderlecht vs Zulte Waregem: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.62
With 7 goals in just 2 league matches, Anderlecht’s attack, led by Thorgan Hazard and new signing Adriano Bertaccini, is on fire. Zulte Waregem’s defence is fragile at best, and it’s easy to imagine them conceding several times against the league leaders’ offensive power. A win for Anderlecht would put them on 9 points – and send a strong message to all the other title contenders.
