France vs Israel: Nations League Preview

France are looking to usurp Italy at the top of their UEFA Nations League group.

Les Bleus currently trail their rivals by one point with two matchdays left to play in this edition’s group stage.

As such, Didier Deschamps will demand a victory over winless Israel when the two sides lock horns at the Stade de France tomorrow evening.

France vs Israel Preview

One of the big stories heading into this match is the absence of France skipper Kylian Mbappe.

Despite being fit and available, the Real Madrid star is not part of the roster for the international break.

Clearly, there is something going on behind the scenes, but it is down to the other players selected by Deschamps to block out the noise and deliver the goods.

The onus will be on the likes of Bradley Barcola, Michael Olise, Christopher Nkunku, Randal Kolo Muani, Marcus Thuram and Ousmane Dembele to fill the void left by Mbappe.

And against Israel, France’s array of talented attackers should have an absolute field day.

The away side have lost all four of their Nations League matches thus far, scoring only four goals and conceding 13.

France’s only defeat came against Italy on home soil and they have since won three on the bounce, a run which includes two triumphs over Belgium.

Les Bleus beat Israel 4-1 in the reverse fixture, with Nkunku and Barcola both on the scoresheet.

It would not be a surprise to see a repeat of that scoreline tomorrow night. Although, Israel may find it even more difficult to score at the Stade de France.

If France do win, as most football fans predict, and Italy fail to beat Belgium, Deschamps’ side will move to the top of the group ahead of the final matchday clash between the two nations at San Siro.

It is all to play for!

France vs Israel Odds

It will come as no shock to learn that France are overwhelming favourites here at odds of 1.13. Israel are priced as high as 20.00 to win, while the draw is at 10.50.

France vs Israel Betting Tips

Bradley Barcola to score anytime @ 1.80

With Mbappe absent, Barcola can act as the team’s focal point while operating from the flank. The PSG starlet has scored 10 goals in 11 Ligue 1 matches this season.

Over 4.5 goals in the match @ 3.15

France will want to put on a show in front of their own fans and with Israel’s leaky defence, we could see goals aplenty. The 4-1 scoreline in the previous fixture would have seen this bet come in.

France to score over 4.5 goals in the match @ 4.35

If you fancy being a bit braver with your bet, this could be a great avenue to go down. Last November, France famously beat Gibraltar 14-0 and while Israel are a higher level of opposition, the risk of a thrashing is still clear for all to see.
