The FIFA Club World Cup continues this week after a Matchday 2 marked by several surprises. These included Botafogo’s 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Miami’s 2-1 win against FC Porto and Flamengo’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea.
While some teams, such as Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester City, have already secured their spot in the next round, others will have to fight for qualification on Matchday 3. This is therefore a decisive stage, particularly for several big names that were expected to be more comfortable at this stage of the competition, such as Chelsea, PSG and Borussia Dortmund.

Paris SG vs Seattle Sounders – Total number of goals: Over 3.5 @ 2.10
PSG knows it: they are the team to beat. After a brilliant start against Atlético Madrid on the first day, Luis Enrique’s men disappointed with a much duller performance against Botafogo, the reigning South American champions.
To secure their place in the last 16, the Parisians will need to get back on track on Monday against Seattle Sounders, who are arguably the most beatable team in Group B. We can imagine Dembélé and his teammates will be determined to make up for their slip-up by taking advantage of the American side’s defensive weaknesses, to score as many goals as possible and boost their confidence ahead of the knockout stages.
Half-time/Full-time: Esperance Tunis vs Chelsea – Draw/Chelsea @ 4.20
With three points each, both teams still have their destiny in their own hands. Esperance Tunis, fired up at the prospect of facing a European giant, will try to resist and perhaps even unsettle the English side with their stability and collective commitment. Opposite them, Chelsea, who have been slightly disappointing since the start of the tournament, will need to impose their technical control and show a completely different side to the one they displayed in their defeat to Flamengo if they want to secure their place in the Round of 16.
Draw between Inter Milan and River Plate @ 3.15
Inter Milan and River Plate go into the final day of Group E level on four points each. A win would secure their place in the last 16, but a draw could also be enough, provided they keep an eye on the other game in the group between Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds, which could turn everything on its head.
River Plate seem to have become accustomed to draws recently, having shared the points in two of their last three matches. Solid defensively but sometimes lacking inspiration in attack, the Argentines are progressing cautiously but remain difficult to beat. Inter Milan, meanwhile, remain unbeaten in this Club World Cup under Cristian Chivu. However, the Nerazzurri are struggling to show any real cutting edge in attack.
CF Pachuca – Number of goals in Al-Hilal vs CF Pachuca Under 0.5 @ 2.50
CF Pachuca is going through a difficult period in attack. The Mexican club has averaged less than one goal per game in its last five matches. Already eliminated from the Club World Cup, Pachuca will approach this final match with nothing to play for, except perhaps to save face.
Opposite them, Al-Hilal still has all its chances of qualifying intact. A win could be enough, but the Saudi club will also have to keep a close eye on the result of the other match in the group between Real Madrid and RB Salzburg, which will directly influence its future in the competition.
