Ones to Watch

The narratives of this weekend’s race are certain to be dominated by one man, Max Verstappen. The Dutchman could be set to join the exclusive, five-man club of four-time Drivers’ Championship winners. If Verstappen tops the podium this week, it will cement his place as the 2024 world champion. But one man who’ll have something to say about that is Englishman, Lando Norris.

The McLaren driver will want to keep the title race firmly alive by winning in Vegas and hoping his rival Verstappen slips as many places down the grid as possible. The points gap is currently at 62, with only 86 more up for grabs in the season. Norris would need to outscore Verstappen by at least three points to keep the fire burning, or at least prolong the inevitable.

But in recent months, Red Bull’s dry weather performance has been lesser than that of McLaren or Ferrari, so Verstappen is by no means guaranteed to claim the crown this weekend. But the irony would not be lost if he did, after the Red Bull driver described the glamorous venue as “99 per cent show, one per cent sporting event”.

On the constructors’ side of things, McLaren are still firmly in control. While Sao Paulo may have dented their star man’s title hopes, it greatly contributed to their 36-point lead over second-placed Ferrari, largely due to their one-two sprint round finish. Similarly, in the last few races Alpine have managed to trampoline from a disappointing 9th to a promising 6th. Will they have the stamina to keep this up and end on a positive note?

Driver drama is also commonplace while there is still room for a team’s roster to be altered ahead of the start of the new season. The two most notable being Lewis Hamilton’s farewell from Mercedes. After a long and illustrious career with the German manufacturer, Hamilton will move to Ferrari next campaign, placing more emphasis on his end of season results as they are his last for his current employers.

Sergio Perez’s seat at Red Bull has been questioned all season and that story is yet to reach its conclusion, hinging on his performance in the closing races of the year. Carlos Sainz, Esteban Ocon, Nico Hulkenberg, Kevin Magnussen, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu are other high-profile names that have been confirmed to be on the move before the start of the 2025 season.

Las Vegas Grand Prix Betting Tips

Cheeky Landos

The two main contenders are tight as far as odds are concerned, but Verstappen is the favourite at 2.85. Norris is close behind at odds of 3.30.

Thank Lew and Goodnight

In his goodbye tour to Mercedes, legend of the sport Hamilton will be keen to give them something to remember him by. He is 9.00 to finish on the podium this weekend.

Need Fer Speed

As far as the constructors go, there is still plenty to play for with bragging rights at stake. It’s 6.50 for a Ferrari car to set the fastest race speed on the Vegas strip this weekend.
