Royal Antwerp to beat Dender @ 1.50
The first fixture of Matchday 15 sees second-placed Antwerp host Dender on Friday evening.
On paper, it looks likely to be a very one-sided affair. Antwerp have won eight of 14 matches this term and scored 27 goals, the second-highest total in the division.
While Dender are really, really struggling for form. They sit 12th in the table and are without a win in five.
Can Dender turn their fortunes around in Antwerp? It would be quite the shock, a shock we do not think will happen.
Standard Liege to beat Cercle Brugge @ 2.60
Cercle Brugge’s final match before the international break could not really have gone any worse.
They were beaten 5-0 on home soil by Anderlecht, which brought an end to a run of two consecutive wins.
So the pressure is on when Cercle travel to Standard Liege, who are five places higher in the table, albeit by bagging just nine goals in 14 matches.
A run of only two wins in five for Standard is also a tad concerning, but nevertheless, the hosts should have enough to claim a sixth victory of the season.
Anderlecht to beat Gent @ 1.90
As previously mentioned, Anderlecht’s last Pro League outing was a resounding success.
A hat-trick from Kasper Dolberg at Cercle Brugge has taken him to eight goals for the season and he will be eager to further bolster that tally against a Gent side who have won just one of their last five.
Gent are only a point behind Anderlecht in the table, so there is so much to play for in this match – which could be the standout of Matchday 15.
Anderlecht’s home record has not been great this term with just three wins from seven thus far, however, we still think David Hubert’s will make it four from eight on Sunday evening.
Union Saint-Gilloise to beat Leuven @ 2.05
Last time out, Union SG rocked the Belgian footballing world by thrashing table-toppers Genk 4-0.
Amazingly, that surprise result came after four Pro League matches in succession without a win.
So while the international break perhaps came at the wrong time, confidence will surely be high in the Union SG camp for their trip to struggling Leuven.
Leuven have the third-worst home record in the division with just nine points from six matches – and their seventh attempt is unlikely to make things any better.
