Union Saint-Gilloise vs Standard Liège: Both teams to score @ 1.42
Defending champions Union Saint-Gilloise, strong on home soil, face a confident Standard Liège side who have impressed since the start of the season. In their last three Pro League matches, USG have scored nine goals, while Standard have netted five. We can expect an open game between two sides currently tied at the top of the table. Strikers Thomas Henry (Standard Liège) and Raul Florucz (USG) could be set for a long-distance battle in the race for the Golden Boot.
Club Brugge to win at Zulte Waregem @ 1.46
A regular at the top of the standings, Club Brugge remain favourites against a Zulte Waregem team still struggling to find its rhythm this season. Although not entirely convincing since the start of the campaign, Christos Tzolis and his teammates have been getting results, as shown by their win on Tuesday night against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League third qualifying round. Having secured their place in the play-offs of Europe’s most prestigious competition, Club Brugge should be able to ride this wave of momentum on Matchday 4, despite any accumulated fatigue.
Draw between KV Mechelen and KAA Gent @ 3.75
With seven points from a possible nine, KV Mechelen have made an excellent start to the season. Their opponents, less so. KAA Gent have so far recorded one win and two defeats. Ivan Leko’s men have not yet lived up to the club’s ambitions and need to respond. A draw away to an in-form side would already be a step in the right direction.
RSC Anderlecht to win at Dender @ 1.98
RSCA needs to make amends. After a surprising 2-3 loss last weekend to newly promoted Zulte Waregem, Anderlecht’s inconsistency was laid bare. Up against a struggling Dender side sitting 13th in the table, the Mauves will need to capitalise on their attacking potential, all while showing the defensive discipline that was sorely lacking in their previous match.
