Club World Quarter-Finals: Our Predictions
*All odds are subject to change
Al-Hilal to beat Fluminense @ 2.52
After their stunning 4-3 win over Pep Guardiola’s men, Al-Hilal are expected to keep the momentum going and overcome the Brazilian challenge. The match is likely to be very tight, with both teams showing similar levels of play. The extra time in the match against City may take a toll on the Saudi side’s fitness, but they seem to have what it takes to defeat Fluminense, who were not expected to make it this far in the tournament.
Under 2.5 goals between Palmeiras and Chelsea @ 1.65
Palmeiras have emerged as one of the most impressive non-European teams. Strong at the back, aggressive and creative in midfield, and efficient in attack, the Brazilians are no longer a surprise – they’re a serious threat. Chelsea have also shown flashes of brilliance so far but remain inconsistent. With both teams favouring a solid, defensive style of play, betting on under 2.5 goals in the match seems wise.
Draw between PSG and Bayern Munich @ 3.65
This is the most high-profile clash of the quarter-finals, a rematch of the 2020 Champions League final, featuring two tournament favourites. PSG are brimming with confidence after a dominant 4–0 win over Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the previous round. Bayern, on their end, had to work hard to overcome a valiant Flamengo side (4–2). We expect a high-scoring game, one that could be decided in extra-time.
Real Madrid to beat Dortmund @ 1.58
Los Blancos appear to be gradually embracing the tactics of their new manager, Xabi Alonso. After a shaky start to the tournament, Real Madrid are now asserting themselves and will face Borussia Dortmund, who narrowly defeated Monterrey (2–1) in the previous round. A Spanish victory seems likely – especially with the return of Kylian Mbappé, who is slowly regaining his form after several weeks out. The French striker will be eager to push his team into the semi-finals, where a potential showdown with Paris Saint-Germain could await.
