Club Brugge will attempt to hold on to their position in the League Phase play-off places as they face Sporting Lisbon.
The sides are currently separated by just three points in the standings, adding an extra element of spice to the crucial Matchday 6 fixture.
Realistically, the best Brugge could hope for is to qualify for the next round via the play-off places, while Sporting might be able to secure a top eight finish if they can continue their positive start.

Club Brugge vs Sporting Lisbon Preview
These two teams come into this one with contrasting fortunes in recent weeks. Club Brugge are on a 10-game unbeaten streak, with three wins in their last three matches. While Sporting, despite winning their first 11 league games, have now lost their last two on the bounce, which becomes three if you include the Champions League defeat to Arsenal.
For Sporting, this form has, of course, coincided with the departure of Ruben Amorim, who left to become manager of Manchester United. It’s a worrying sign for the club, as it may signal a mass exodus of key players, such as Viktor Gyokeres, Morten Hjulmand and others.
Based on their fixtures so far, Brugge are perhaps exactly where most would expect them to be. They’ve collected seven points from matches against Dortmund (3-0 L), Sturm Graz (1-0 W), AC Milan (3-1 L), Aston Villa (1-0 W) and Celtic (1-1). Of all these games, it was the result against Villa that was above expectations, and has given them a great chance of maintaining their play-off place. That being said, with their other two fixtures against Juventus and Manchester City, the game against Sporting might be their best chance of getting what they need to see them over the line.
In comparison, Sporting are in a slightly healthier position in the Champions League, being one of seven teams on 10 points after five played. They still need to travel to RB Leipzig and host Bologna – two teams without a win and just a point between them thus far.

Club Brugge vs Sporting Lisbon Betting Tips
Both Teams to Score No Draw – Yes @ 2.30
This is an interesting match-up that, up until a few weeks ago, most would have backed Sporting to win quite comfortably. But after the loss of their manager and three defeats in a row, there is a chance for Brugge to capitalise. It is in the balance, but there will be a winner, we reckon.
Winning Margin – Sporting to Win by 1 Goal @ 4.15
…But if we had to pick a winner, we would probably just give the edge to Sporting, winning a tight game by a single goal.
Anytime Goalscorer – Viktor Gyokeres @ 2.10
Of course it is him. If you are looking for a safer bet, Sporting’s top scorer to find the back of the net again is probably it.
