We’ll soon find out the last teams to qualify for the Champions League, as the second legs of the playoffs take place on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some clubs like Bodo/Glimt, who crushed Sturm Graz (5-0), or Club Brugge, who defeated Rangers (1-3), have already secured a significant advantage from the first leg. Others like Benfica or Basel, however, will have to fight hard to clinch qualification.
Here are our predictions for some of these decisive second-leg clashes for a place in the Champions League, along with the bet on football odds for your bet. You can also watch your favourite major sporting events live on betFIRST TV!
Champions League 2025/26 : Our Playoff 2nd Leg Predictions
*All odds are subject to change
Draw between Club Brugge and Rangers @ 4.30
After last week’s bad performance, Rangers have nothing left to lose. Trailing by two goals, John Souttar and his teammates will need to rely on high pressing and an offensive style of play in Belgium. That will naturally leave space for Club Brugge, who did the job in the first leg and could simply focus on defending well to secure a draw. Brugge’s defensive solidity, combined with their European experience, should allow them to control the game. Even if Rangers push until the end, the most likely scenario is a locked contest ending without a winner.
Bodo/Glimt to keep a clean sheet against Sturm Graz @ 4.50
Bodo/Glimt have been shining defensively in recent weeks, conceding on average less than one goal per game over their last five matches. After hammering the Austrians in the first leg, Kasper Høgh and his teammates can rely on their solid, disciplined defensive block to manage this match comfortably. Even at home, Sturm Graz do not seem to have the weapons necessary to truly trouble their opponent.
Benfica to beat Fenerbahçe @ 1.68
Last week, we predicted a draw between these two European giants. The first leg was evenly balanced, with only nine shots on target in total, and it ultimately ended goalless. But at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica usually step up to the plate, and they may very well deliver a far stronger performance against José Mourinho’s men on home soil. However, the Portuguese side will have to do without Florentino Luís, who was sent off last Wednesday after two yellow cards.
FC Basel vs FC Copenhagen: Both Teams to Score @ 1.72
The same prediction as in the first leg, which came through after the 1-1 draw in Switzerland, meaning everything is still to play for. Both teams have shown they can go blow for blow, and their attacking lines have more-than enough quality to create chances. Copenhagen, usually solid but sometimes vulnerable defensively at home against high-level opposition, could leave crucial space for Basel on the counter. Xherdan Shaqiri, who returned to his boyhood club in 2024, will be desperate to earn Basel qualification, as they have been absent from the Champions League since 2018. Another game with goals on both sides seems very likely.
