Brighton vs Arsenal: Premier League Preview

Arsenal continue their quest for Premier League glory with a tough trip to Brighton.

The Gunners enjoyed the tricky festive period, claiming back-to-back wins after Christmas Day to keep pace with leaders Liverpool.

Mikel Arteta knows his side cannot afford to drop any points at the Amex Stadium, a place where they claimed a 3-0 victory last season.

Brighton vs Arsenal Preview

After an impressive start to the season, Brighton have really struggled to pick up points in recent weeks.

The South Coast outfit are seven matches without a win in the Premier League and have drawn their last three.

However, manager Fabian Hurzeler will certainly take positives from the recent 2-2 against Aston Villa, with Tariq Lamptey’s late equaliser salvaging a precious point.

In contrast, Arsenal have won their last four matches across all competitions, claiming an impressive 3-1 victory at Brentford on New Year’s Day.

The Gunners appear to be managing well without the influence of injured talisman Bukayo Saka, with Gabriel Jesus enjoying a welcome return to form.

He has scored six goals in this last four and netted the crucial equaliser at Brentford after Bryan Mbeumo had given the hosts the lead.

Arteta will need the Brazilian to lead the line with authority once again at Brighton, as it still represents one of the toughest places to go in the Premier League.

However, the Seagulls’ tendency to play a more expansive style of football could play right into Arsenal’s hands.

The North Londoners have really struggled against teams who utilise a deep block, evidenced by the recent 0-0 draw with Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have won on their last two visits to the Amex and will be eyeing three consecutive wins at the ground.

Brighton vs Arsenal Odds

*All odds are subject to change

With everything taken into account, it is no surprise to see Arsenal as big favourites for the win at odds of 1.80. Brighton are priced at 4.45 to claim a success which would make Liverpool fans very, very happy.

Brighton vs Arsenal Betting Tips

Gabriel Jesus to score anytime @ 2.80

When it comes to wagering on a goalscorer, it is always wise to look at the men in form. Jesus looks a different player to the one who looked bereft of ideas at the start of the season, which is great news for the Arsenal contingent.

Arsenal to win and both teams to score @ 2.95

But while Arsenal should record another win, we cannot see David Raya keeping a clean sheet. The Gunners have failed to keep the opposition out in their last seven away league matches.

Arsenal to score over 2.5 goals @ 3.15

Brighton are also failing to keep clean sheets, though. The Seagulls have conceded 28 times already this season and Arsenal will really fancy their chances of taking that tally over the 30 mark – even without the brilliant Saka!
