Real Madrid to beat Atletico Madrid @ 1.90
A Madrid derby in the last 16 is something every football fan can get excited about. The two giants of Spanish football have clashed twice already this season, with both matches ending 1-1. But something has to give in this tie and with the first leg at the Bernabeu, the Champions League holders will want to take a lead across the city. Kylian Mbappe is beginning to strut his stuff in the famous white jersey and while Jude Bellingham is suspended for this game, Real should have enough to claim a first-leg victory. Because when it comes to this competition, they always seem to deliver!
Bayern Munich to beat Bayer Leverkusen @ 1.83
An all-Bundesliga clash which is incredibly hard to call. Bayern are flying high at the top of the German top flight right now, so Leverkusen will be desperate to make a statement in this competition in search of more silverware. Xabi Alonso’s side enter the fixture at the Allianz Arena on the back of a fantastic 4-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt, however, facing Vincent Kompany’s side is a different proposition. And while Leverkusen left Munich with a 0-0 draw on February 15, we cannot look past a first-leg win here for Bayern.
Paris Saint-Germain vs Liverpool: Draw @ 3.75
Despite finishing top of the Champions League table, Premier League leaders Liverpool have been dealt a tough last 16 tie in PSG. The French side are sweeping all before them right now, with Ousmane Dembele in the best form of his career. But Liverpool are probably the best team in Europe and Mohamed Salah seems to strengthen his claim as the Ballon d’Or frontrunner each week. The first leg in Paris should be football entertainment of the highest order given the form of both teams and when the referee blows the full-time whistle, we are predicting the tie to be in the balance.
PSV Eindhoven vs Arsenal: Draw @ 3.55
Yes, we are going for another draw involving a Premier League side! Arsenal’s injury crisis up front has seen them fail to score in the last two matches and it is hard to envision them finding the back of the net in Eindhoven. But with the Gunners’ strength in midfield and defence, we can still see them holding firm in the Netherlands and avoiding defeat. PSV have won only one of the last six across all competitions, a very concerning run for a team of their undeniable stature.
