Just a single point separates Celtic and Club Brugge, helping to build the anticipation for the Champions League Matchday 5 fixture.
Both teams will be satisfied with the opening half of the league phase, having picked up statement wins already. Celtic beat Leipzig 3-1 last time out, while Club Brugge did a job on Aston Villa and came out 1-0 winners.
Two teams used to sporting the underdog take in European competition will know that a couple of good results in the last four matches of the League Phase might be enough to secure a passage into the Play-Off round.

Celtic vs Club Brugge Preview
This game is probably more significant than either team would have imagined, with both overperforming expectations so far. A win for either could see them rise into the top eight positions with just three games left in the League Phase, giving them a fantastic chance of progressing at least to February’s Play-Offs.
Celtic being at home gives them an advantage, but could also produce additional pressure should the evening not go completely to plan. That being said, they did go 1-0 down to a 23rd-minute Christoph Baumgartner goal in their 3-1 defeat of Leipzig on Matchday 4, so they have already shown they can bounce back amidst adversity.
Meanwhile, Club Brugge were similarly showing their Champions League credentials, beating Aston Villa 1-0 in Bruges. That win has certainly kept them alive in the competition ahead of their next four fixtures that look extremely tough on paper. After their trip to Celtic Park, they have Sporting and Juventus at home before heading to Manchester to face the 2023 Champions League winners City.
Comparatively, Celtic follow this one by going away to Dinamo, hosting Young Boys, before visiting Villa Park on Matchday 8 – a slightly easier run, some might say, which adds to the potential of what could be should they take all three points against Brugge.
Celtic vs Club Brugge Odds
*Odds are subject to change
As you would expect, Celtic are favourites mostly due to home advantage, and a home win is priced at 2.10. You can get the draw at 3.75, while a Club Brugge win is priced at 3.45.
Celtic vs Club Brugge Betting Tips
Both Teams to Score – No @ 2.40
Brugge have only managed three goals in their four games so far, and with Celtic likely to take control at home, we wouldn’t be surprised if Brugge, in particular, drew a blank.
Anytime Goalscorer – Nicolas Kuhn @ 3.20
After his heroics against Leipzig, it seems Kuhn is ready to grab the Champions League spotlight for Celtic, so a goal at any point seems a decent shout for a player in good form.
Half with Most Goals – 1st Half @ 2.85
We’re expecting a quick, aggressive start from Celtic as they look to capitalise on their home advantage in hope of killing off the game as early as possible, so we think the first half should see the most goals, if things go the way they want.
